Device Compatibility for Jetset eSIMs
Before you purchase your Jetset eSIM, it's important to ensure your device is compatible with eSIM technology. Most modern smartphones, tablets, and some laptops support eSIM, but it's always best to check your specific model.
An eSIM is a digital SIM embedded directly into your device, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. This embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) can be remotely provisioned with subscriber information and network profiles over-the-air (OTA), enabling users to activate services, switch carriers, or update connectivity settings without physical interaction.[1, 2, 3, 4, 5] This capability is a cornerstone of its appeal, offering unparalleled convenience and flexibility.
Most iPhone models released since 2018, as well as many iPad models, support eSIM. Newer models in the same series are highly likely to be compatible. Please ensure your device is unlocked from its previous carrier for seamless activation.[6]
- iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and later models (e.g., iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 series)
- iPhone SE (2020 and 2022 models)
- iPad Pro (11-inch, 1st generation and later; 12.9-inch, 3rd generation and later)
- iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
- iPad (7th generation and later)
- iPad mini (5th generation and later)
- Apple Watch (cellular models - note that smartwatches operate differently from phones and tablets, often as companion devices [6])
Note: iPhone 14 models and later sold in the U.S. are eSIM-only. iPhone devices from Mainland China, and certain iPhone models from Hong Kong and Macao (except for the iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone SE 2020, and iPhone XS) do not have eSIM capability.
Many Android smartphones and tablets from various manufacturers now support eSIM. Newer models in the same series are highly likely to be compatible. Compatibility can vary significantly by region and specific model. Please ensure your device is unlocked from its previous carrier.[6]
